Job Overview
As a Senior Associate, Credit and Analytics, you will play a critical role in assessing, monitoring, and managing credit risk across the Nigeria portfolio. You will use quantitative, analytical, and statistical techniques to evaluate borrower creditworthiness, monitor portfolio performance, and support data-driven decision-making. This role requires strong attention to detail, sound analytical judgment, and the ability to translate complex insights into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilites
- Monitor product performance and drive changes to the credit policy of the Nigeria portfolio to optimize profitability and achieve growth targets.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reports to track portfolio performance, including growth, delinquency, and default-related trends.
- Develop and apply statistical models to support loan pricing, borrower risk segmentation, forecasting, and capital markets related financial analysis.
- Identify trends, risks and opportunities and deliver actionable insights to support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Monitor disbursement/repayment covenants and early warning indicators to identify potential credit deterioration.
- Support the automation and continuous improvement of credit processes, controls and reporting.
- Collaborate with data teams to improve data quality and availability.
- Present analyses, findings and recommendations clearly and concisely to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with data science, finance, product, marketing, collections, and engineering teams to monitor acquisition trends/quality, propose/design/evaluate experiments, and implement policy changes to meet company objectives.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis to diagnose changes in portfolio performance, develop data-driven solutions, and evaluate expected portfolio impacts.
- Propose data-driven product and policy enhancements to improve customer experience and company profitability. Partner with product and engineering teams to implement your solutions into production.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of relevant experience
- Fluent in SQL and Excel. Proficiency in R/Python, or similar statistical analysis tool, is a plus
- Previous experience in analytics and/or quantitative modeling, using large datasets
- Experience in analyzing, visualizing, and communicating impactful insights to management, investors, and/or auditors
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Enthusiasm for working across cultures, functions, and time zones
