Job Overview
Branch is seeking a talented legal officer to take care of the legal operations for the Indian market. In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day management of our legal department. The focus will include contract drafting, vetting, tracking contract life-cycle, drafting legal responses, tracking compliances, analyzing regulatory updates and its implementation etc. You will collaborate with our Ops, Credit, Finance, Digital, Design, Data Science, Growth, and Product teams to drive legal operations and compliance culture. Responsibilities
- Drafting, vetting, reviewing, executing legal contracts to safeguard Company’s interest;
- Develop and implement processes to ensure legal documentation is in place to safeguard the Company against any legal risk.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to conduct vendor studies, audits, checking compliance activities.
- Maintain and track contract lifecycle and collaborate with the finance team for ensuring continuity.
- Drafting legal responses for various stakeholders depending on the requirement.
- Understand various lending business models, operations of NBFCs, Lending Service Providers, and upkeep with latest RBI regulations with respect to lending
- Research, track and report on legal developments related to personal loans and other products of the Company and collaborate with the business lines to ensure compliance.
- Advising on contract status, advise on the risks and opportunities related to growth initiatives and the legal liabilities associated with different deals.
- Review and comment on business and regulatory team policies and procedures, company training materials, and customer-facing collateral.
- Researching and anticipating unique legal issues that could impact the company.
- Prevent risk of litigation and review litigation files, if any.
- Negotiations and managing cost with law firm & experts
- Reply to legal notices in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Reviewing data privacy laws & seeing to it that the company follows GDPR and Indian Data Privacy Laws.
- Ensure compliance with organization policies by all team members.
Qualifications
- Law graduate (LLB / LLM)
- 4-6 years of experience in legal profile, preferably in fintech NBFC and
- Strong hold on legal matters and up-to-date on regulatory matters.
