The Business Development Associate will be responsible for driving growth and scale across all our products to ensure commercial success while building and maintaining strong relationships with partners. 

The successful candidate will be required to be based in Nairobi, Kenya.


Key Responsibilities

  • Market Research and Analysis:
    • Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential customers and partners
    • Analyze competitor activities and market dynamics to develop effective strategies.
  • Business Strategy Development:
    • Develop and implement strategic plans to expand the company's customer base and market reach to drive growth and market penetration.
    • Identify new business opportunities and areas for growth.
  • Partner Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing partners.
    • Identify customer needs and develop customized solutions to meet their requirements.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for partners inquiries and concerns.
    • Identify and engage potential strategic partners.
    • Managing strategic partnerships that align with company goals ,values and target market 
    • Conduct thorough research to assess the compatibility and potential benefits of each partnership opportunity.
 
  • Sales and Business Development:
    • Generate leads and convert them into sales opportunities.
    • Develop proposals, presentations, and pitches to potential partners
    • Negotiate contracts and agreements with partners.
    • Conduct high level industry research to develop effective sales solutions
  • Collaboration and Coordination:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, product development, and operations to drive business objectives.
    • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of business development strategies.
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting:
    • Track OKRs Objectives Key Results and metrics to measure the effectiveness of business development efforts.
    • Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate progress and results to management.

Qualifications and Skills

  • At least 5 years of proven work experience in a Business Development, or Commercial or B2B Sales or similar role 
  • Bachelor Degree in Business or Operations or Marketing or a related field 
  • Ability to anticipate needs, think critically, and offer solutions to problems with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strategic thinker, with  sharp executions coupled with relentless ambition and energy
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail 
  • High degree of professionalism in dealing with diverse groups of people, including senior executives, colleagues and commercial partners. 
  • Ability to complete a high volume of tasks and projects with little or no guidance.
  • Ability to react with appropriate levels of urgency to situations and events that require quick response or turnaround.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of sales processes
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented mindset, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
